Reebok SA re-appointed distributor

Reebok SA
The Reebok licensing and distribution agreement in SA, which successfully established and grew the brand in the local market since it was first signed in 2001, has been extended.

“SA is one of the strongest territories for the Reebok brand and we are committed to support Bruce Joubert and his team in their efforts to further grow the business in South Africa”, says Paul Gils, Vice President, Brand Director Reebok EMEA, pictured with Reebok SA CEO, Bruce Joubert (left). According to Joubert, "there has never been a more exciting time to be part of the brand. We have amazing products and our focus on getting our customers fit for life, really resonates with our view for the brand in SA."

The company is flourishing mainly due to the worldwide success of its EasyTone toning shoe and ZigTech technologies. Following global brand strategy, Reebok SA has invested heavily in TV campaigns to support the two initiatives. The plan for 2011 is to further extend the product categories by introducing EasyTone and ZigTech apparel in February.

The multi-year collaboration deal between Giorgio Armani S.p.A and Reebok (international), launched earlier this year, has been very well received in the SA market, says Joubert, further strengthening Reebok’s sport and style credentials. “The collection provides a perfect combination of the worlds of sport and fashion: Reebok’s sporting DNA and Emporio Armani’s glamour and style.”

To top a very successful year for the brand, Reebok won the Footwear News Marketer of the Year Award for 2010, which was held at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City for their global “Ree” marketing campaign, which highlights the EasyTone and ZigTech footwear lines.
